HACCP Food Safety Management System

Codex HACCP is a set of requirements and steps, issued by the World Health Organization is is still the most universally accepted Food Safety standard in the world.

Codex HACCP contains the core principles that a Food Safety Management System must comply with to ensure an organisation identifies all hazards to the safety of Food products under its control, directly or indirectly, either by physical, chemical or (micro)biological contamination.

Once identified, the organisation needs to assess the risk and determine the Critical Control Points that require monitoring and verification to ensure threads to Food Safety are pro-actively identified before any harm is done.

Requirements also include determination of actions to be taken when a potential issue is identified, including product recalls, traceability and record-keeping.

Food Safety certification such as HACCP is often a pre-requisite to operate a business, not only in the Food Industry itself, but also for organisations that are suppliers to the Food Industry such as transport and logistics companies, suppliers of packaging materials, food processing/ packaging equipment, warehousing and storage, pest control, etc.

Many of our clients are small businesses faced with an increasing number of their clients requiring them to have HACCP Certification, to provide them with confidence the potential hazards they may be introducing to the food supply chain have been identified and controlled. We also certify numerous larger organisations for their Food Safety Systems and have the expertise and experience to assist any size organisation that is -directly or indirectly- a part of the food supply chain.
